This motivates him further to co-operate. :) A win win.

My DH is a foodie. So, when he helps me to stay on budget, I treat him with half of the money saved. Keep up the good work!

Ryan, you are living the dream! It is refreshing to hear of someone that “gets it” while still young. Hopefully I won't learn these things for another 10 years or so.
Financial freedom and the ability to travel the world at a young age before having kids helps me stay frugal and save as much as possible. Also the freedom to spend time with my kids if/when I ever decide to have them.

I bet you never thought paying bills could be so invigorating?
My wife and I get giddy every time we send an extra chunk off to the mortgage!

David – You had half of it right, selling on eBay! <img

I used to buy and sell things on Ebay, and was always upgrading my electronic gadgets and buying things for my vehicles but I've given that all up. I can make do with my Palm Treo and Ipod for a while.
What keeps me motivated to save is to build up my depleted emergency fund and pay down bills - that's way more important than anything else I could buy. Plus my family usually has more wants and needs than I'll ever be able to provide :-)
